Professional Artist Explores Colouring Books With Colour Pencils

Can a professional artist take on the challenge of a colouring-in book?

As a child, I enjoyed colouring with crayons and coloured pencils. But I wasn't good at colouring within the lines. My mother helped me improve and work on my motor control by giving me colouring pages to fill in. It was one of the earliest skills I developed that helped me draw better. To this day, I enjoy colouring-in pages to relax and unwind.

Colouring pages were the starting point for many artists. It allowed us to mess about with coloured pencils and crayons. Some enjoy colouring pages long after we're 'too old' for them.

In this video, I attempt to add a new dimension to the humble colouring book. I hope to bring to life a black-and-white image with coloured pencils and share the techniques to shade and blend in your colouring books. Stick around to learn how colour pencils and colouring-in pages can offer a relaxing way to express your creativity.
